This adapter allows a flashgun to be used with standard S-fit (Lencarta, Bowens etc) softboxes, umbrellas softboxes, beauty dishes etc. - the strong steel construction means that it is strong enough to be used with any type of light modifier, or they can be used without any diffusion.
The flashgun fits onto the cold shoe fitted to the adapter, which can be adjusted for both height and reach, making it ideal for all flashguns. A radio trigger set or receiver is normally used to trigger the flash, but some flash guns also allow a standard synch cable to be used for this.
A major advantage of using hotshoe flashguns is the very short flash durations that can be obtained when they are used at low power, so our adapter, used with almost any light shaper - but not a fresnel spot or a focussing spot adapter - can be used either instead or with studio flash lighting to produce short enough flash durations to freeze rapid subject movement such as dancing, flying hair etc.
This adapter fits straight on to any standard lighting stand or, using the adapter supplied, it can be fitted to a tripod fitted with the standard 1/4" Whitworth screw.
