This is the reason why they recycle so quickly and have such consistent power and consistent flash energy, regardless of the power setting.
We believe that Lencarta is the only manufacturer to equip its budget range in this way, and although other sellers seem to keep very quiet about the number of capacitors in their heads the fact that all other budget models take a very long time to recycle is a good indication that they have economised in this very important area, and the fact that all other budget models have very low powered modelling lamps is a good indication that they don't include a cooling fan either! Flexibility

Lights that don’t have interchangeable reflectors can’t take a wide range of different accessories, and if they can’t do that then you won’t be able to shape, modify and control the light properly, and you’ll be disappointed with your results. Build quality & reliability
Lencarta lighting units use only the best components. Performance-critical flash tubes and capacitors are made in Germany and Japan by some of the world's largest and most reliable manufacturers. Likewise other parts are precision engineered  to top standards. Many key components are simply the best around in non-military options. Quality is a top priority at Lencarta. Lencarta equipment is built to last.

Tank-like build quality
Our Safari flash heads, which are small and light and which don't contain high voltage components, are made from sheet metal. Our ElitePro and SmartFlash models, which are heavier and which contain high voltage capacitors and delicate electronic components, are encased in tough ABS, which absorbs shock extremely well and which provides an extra level of electrical insulation. Like all high quality manufacturers, we put safety first and because of this we never use the much cheaper cast metal used by some other manufacturers.

Safety.
Electrical and fire safety is vitally important, so all Lencarta equipment is built to a much higher safety standard than it is required to be. Camera safety is important too, so the trigger voltage on Lencarta lights is safe for your camera. Security is important too, so, unlike some makes, all Lencarta lighting stands are rigid and more than capable of supporting the weight.

Specification

Very accurate power and colour rendition

Lencarta products are highly specified. For example, even our cheapest mains powered flash heads have efficient cooling fans and nine capacitors, which ensure very fast recycling, short flash duration, consistent colour temperature and stable flash energy at all power settings.

All manufacturers seem to claim that their lights produce the same colour of flash every time, but in reality there can be huge differences – and if, for example, the colour of the fill light is different to the colour of the key light there is nothing you can do on the computer to put it right! All Lencarta flash heads are at least 96% consistent (5,500K +- 200K).

Production
We carry out cutting-edge research and development in our specialised field. Our continuous drive in product development ensures that our lighting units are equipped with Lencarta's state-of-the-art proprietary electronics and premium components. Each Lencarta product is carefully crafted to Lencarta's exacting specification by one of our overseas affiliate manufacturers, who also supply many other top names in the electronics industry. We work only with world-leading manufacturing facilities and we collaborate with them right from the R&D stage until final assembly. Lencarta strives to be a socially responsible manufacturer, constantly assessing the performance of our affiliate factories based on working conditions, fair wages, environmental friendliness, and total quality benchmark score.

All of the performance-critical internal components (for example our flash tubes and capacitors) are uniquely made for Lencarta in Germany and Japan. Some Lencarta products also incorporate standard exterior parts supplied by our assembly plant, items such as control panels and body casings, because these standard parts enable Lencarta to save on tooling costs and thus pass on greater savings to our customers. As a result however, there are flash products available that have a basically similar appearance - but they do not benefit from  Lencarta's electronic design and therefore do not perform like genuine Lencarta products in terms of spec and reliability. It's what is inside  the case that matters!

Output consistency
The flash needs to be the same power every time, otherwise you’ll get very inconsistent results. This is especially important if you shoot on digital. All Lencarta flash heads have at least 99.6% flash output consistency.

Power
You need enough power to do the job, with a bit in reserve. If you don’t have enough power you’ll need to increase the ISO setting on your camera, and this will affect the quality. Lencarta digital flash heads are available with a choice of 200, 300 and 600 Ws (joule) power outputs.

Power adjustment
Power isn’t enough, you need to be able to turn it down when you need to. All Lencarta flash heads have a very wide range of adjustment

Modelling lamps
Modelling lamps are important because if they aren’t bright enough they won’t do their job, which is to show you where the shadows fall and to show you the effect of the lighting. All mains powered Lencarta  flash heads are fitted with powerful Halostar modelling lamps, which are effective, cheap and easily available.

Customer service

Warranty and repairs.
We have our own service centre and provide a full, no quibble 18 month warranty. If your product develops a fault within 18 months we’ll repair or replace it free of charge. If it develops a fault after 18 months we’ll repair it at cost price.

Compatibility

Our flash heads and light modifiers are all Bowens S Fit.   We know with some other brands, you buy a cheap flash head, and can be tied into buying overpriced light modifiers and accessories that will never ever fit anything else. 

If you already have S Fit modifiers, they will fit our flash heads.  If you currently have a S Fit head, our modifiers will fit that too.
